Guest Profile:
Lu Yi graduated from Jilin University in 1982 with a master's degree in international politics. After graduation, Mr. Lu stayed at school to teach. He has been engaged in the teaching and research of Japanese politics and Sino-Japanese relations. He was also the director of Japan Research Institute of Jilin University. He is now a professor and doctoral supervisor in the Department of International Politics of the Institute of International Relations. He is also the executive director of the Japan Society of China, the Japan Society of History of China, the Chinese Society of History of Sino-Japanese Relations, and the director of the East Asia Research Center of the Beijing Association of Foreign Studies.
Luyi's main research interests are relations between countries in Northeast Asia, Japanese politics and diplomacy. He has successively been a visiting professor or or fellow in universities and research institutes such as Kansai University, Rikuo University, International Center for Japanese Culture Studies, Shimane Prefectural University and so on. He has written and published Japanese Local Autonomy System and Sino-Japanese Local Autonomy System. More than 100 academic papers have been published in many monographs, such as comparative study of civil service system, How Far is China-Japan Mutual Understanding?
